Is VBS AAR working when you record without Fires?

We seem to have lost our VBS3 Fires AAR capability with the latest version 3.9 (135). We run the mission in conjunction with VBS FIRES, save the AAR, once we load the AAR to play it back the entire system locks up when the aarsim file loads. ANY IDEAS????
